Relaxing and delicious restaurant in a cute area in Brooklyn. We wanted to get out of the usual flavors and dishes you see at many restaurants in NY and we accomplished it here. The food was very authentic and delicious, we felt like we were back in Spain. Highly recommend it for a nice weekend dinner. Everything was good enough. Occasionally a great dish, but a lot of stuff that just didn’t wow enough for the price tag. I ended up spending as much as a fine dining restaurant and really didn’t get that same experience. Tapas need to have more wow factor. Cute little place, great service and amazing food - my friend and I went for a birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. Their cocktails and wine selection are wonderful and every dish was memorable

All of the food was very good. The one dish that I would absolutely come back for is the aho blanco. absolutely love this place some of the best food i’ve had in a while, went with a big group and basically tried the whole menu, ZERROOO complaints. This place has been on my must visit list for a long time, and I'm so happy I got to go recently! Loves: + Food is good, with standouts being: rossejat ($38) which is like paella, croquetas ($10), and cochinillo ($38). + Very accommodating with reservations! If you don't see something available, they encourage you to call them and they really mean it. + Nice service and clean space This place is very nice and has received a Michelin star in the past. I do find some of the dishes to be standouts and some less so, but overall I had a positive experience here. Thank you, La Vara!

We've been coming here for years and can't imagine how they don't have Michelin star! They're incredibly delicious and consistent. We get multiple orders of the anchovies and octopus carpacchio every time. It's our favorite date night spot and will continue to be!
